马海蛟,1990年生于河北,于2009至2016年就读于中国美术学院,先后获学士学位和硕士学位,现工作、生活于北京。他长期关注生命中的“日常性”部分,并以此为基底追踪逻辑线索构成工作形态以及影像文本。

 

其近期个展包括“北方”(TABULA RASA 画廊,北京,2022);“如果把绿色删除,如果开始关心植物”(TABULA RASA 画廊,伦敦,2022);“看得见风景的房间”(浙江美术馆,杭州,2021); “快乐区域”(TABULA RASA 画廊,北京,2018)。

 

同时他的作品在诸多美术馆和艺术机构参展,银川当代美术馆(2021);中间美术馆,北京(2020);Baton画廊,首尔(2019);巴塞尔艺术博览会,香港(2019);OCAT,深圳(2019);OCAT,上海(2018);首届安仁双年展(2017);尤伦斯当代艺术中心,北京(2017);第11届上海双年展(2016)。

 

马海蛟的作品《洞见》入围2021年FIRST影展超短片单元,2020年他被提名集美·阿尔勒发现奖,2018年入围三亚华宇青年奖以及第10届三影堂摄影奖,于2017年被提名“ART021×保时捷年度中国青年艺术家”,其作品由芝加哥大学斯马特美术馆,上海当代艺术博物馆,ZARYA当代艺术中心(符拉迪沃斯托克)收藏。

Ma Haijiao (b.1990, Hebei province, China) studied from 2009 to 2016 at the China Academy of Art, where he gained a BA and then an MFA. He now lives and works in Beijing. His art practice has an enduring concern with the daily “routine” of life, and taking this as his starting point, he traces its logic to shape video narratives and other works.

 

His recent solo exhibition include “The North” (Tabula Rasa Gallery, Beijing, 2022); “If We Delete Green, If We Start Caring About Plants” (Tabula Rasa Gallery, London, 2022);  “A Room with a View” (Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou, 2021); “Happy Valley” (Tabula Rasa Gallery, Beijing, 2018).

 

He has participated in art exhibitions including MOCA Yinchuan (2021); Inside-Out Art Museum, Beijing (2020); Gallery Baton, Seoul (2019); Art Basel, Hong Kong (2019); OCAT, Shenzhen (2019); OCAT, Shanghai (2018); The 1st Anren Biennale (2017); UCCA Center for Contemporary Art(2017); The 11th Shanghai Biennale (2016).

 

Ma Haijiao’s short film "Orange, Bee, and Snow Mountain" was selected for the Short Short Film section of the FIRST International Film Festival (2021). He was a nominee for the JIMEI x ARLES Discovery Award (2020). He won the prize of EACA (East Asian Contemporary Art) in 2019, he was a finalist of the Huayu Youth Award in Art Sanya (2018), and a finalist for the 10th Three Shadows Photography Award, he was a nominee for the A021xPORSCHE Young Chinese Artist of the Year (2017). His work was collected by Smart Museum of Art (Chicago), Power Station of Art (Shanghai) and ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art (Vladivostok).
